Education Shifts Power was a poem co-created with three fellow female poets from India, Nigeria, and Malawi. We wrote this piece to raise our voices and demand funding for girls’ education. We wrote it for the G7 World Leaders Summit, and it will be part of a year-long campaign presented at several global stages.
Together with Plan International and my fellow activists at Transform Education, hosted by the United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI), we call on power-holders to protect and increase education budgets and promote education so that every girl has the opportunity to lead.
